No Server Longhorn December 2006 CTP for MSDN/Technet this moment

Yesterday but for this moment it only available via Connect site. I look at my Technet but Dec CTP not already there for download? what’s happened then? David from Windows Sever teams :

“Why isn’t it up on our download site?” Well, you probably heard about the inclement weather we had up here in the Pacific Northwest over the last week, which damaged power lines throughout the region and left lots of people (and the Microsoft campus) without power for a few days. The truth is that we wanted to get the CTP up on MSDN at the same time as Connect, but there were still some internal systems down, so we weren’t able to get them done together. However, we will get this new CTP to our MSDN and TechNet subscribers as soon as we can - I would guess about a week, so hang in there!

So take some time off for the holidays (I’m on vacation myself in Ireland this week) and relax with family and friends - your CTP should be waiting for you when you get back!

So keep waiting until the holiday is ended. May be that time I need to go south for my sister’s wedding party. And then I will be here after the new year.

  1. Still no Longhorn DEC CTP for TechNet/MSDN at Lorgor Says:

[…] Microsoft released Windows Server codename “Longhorn” December 2006 CTP on 21 Dec but it only available for Managed Beta Tester via Microsoft Connect.  MSDN and TechNet subscriber will need to wait until the end of new year holiday. Davis explained on Windows Server Division blog the issue is related to the storm which damaged power line. David also promised that the CTP will already there for download and test when we are back. I came back on Jan 2 and keep regularly check on my TechNet if it available but no Longhorn Dec CTP there. There is no information from Server team. I tried to use online chat (assistant) from Technet page but Jenny terminated my session twice that because of my connection is slow due to Earthquake in Korea. […]
