I recently download “Fact Sheet: Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007“, something interested me.

• More than 1.5 million devices will be compatible with Windows Vista™ at launch. 
• Three times more drivers for Windows Vista (30,000 at launch) than Windows^® XP. 
•  More than 5,000 hardware and software products have been Certified for Windows Vista or have a Works with Windows Vista logo.
• More than 2,500 Certified for Windows Vista products to be available at launch, tested to deliver a superior experience with a PC running Windows Vista.

Other facts that not included:

• A numbers of Microsoft’s Products have compatible issue. Plus, some software (e.g. Windows Live Messenger 8.1) and web service (Windows Live ID - to be specified Sign-in Assistant) is not ready in the time Vista hits market.

• Some drivers delivered via Vista’s Windows Update causing problem.

• My Asus My Cinema-P7131 (TV Card) was left behind, Vista Media Center never detected it. Quoted “More than 1.5 million devices will be compatible with Windows Vista™ at launch”, it’s will remain as WILL BE. Almost of hardware manufacturer will let the old device died and going to sale new one.

• Some software were get certified before they fix compatible issue, Nero is an example.

• It’s seems like none of Microsoft’s product can take advantage of Vista’s new technology, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). What’s about Yahoo Messenger for Vista.

• New Windows ReadyBoost will kill HTTP accessible after unpredictable time of continued use (I will talk about this later).
