After long await, Windows Vista released today for customer continues with final version of Windows Live Messenger 8.1. If you’re one of Windows Live ID and Vista (beta or rtm)user, you’ve got that pain of Windows Live services by signing in/signing out. It’s seem there is no Windows Live Sign-in Assistant existing there. Trevin Chow former Lead Program Manager of Windows Live ID told me long before that Microsoft will release Vista compatible version of Sign-in Assistant soon. But soon took more than four months and during Messenger 8.1 beta, it’s never close to compatible. It’s also no word from Messenger team while Live ID blog was dead for, to now, six months.
It’s not that bad, when the right time is come Microsoft releases Vista compatible version of Live Sign-in Assistant bundled with Messenger 8.1 final. If you’re going to install Messenger 8.1 on your Vista machine be sure you check on “Install the Windows Live Sign-in Assistant” in the early step of Messenger’s installation. Don’t forget to give permission of “Windows Live Sign-in Helper” add-on when you launch IE7, which will allow you to get advantage of Sign-in Assistant.

I am a new user of Vista, and have tried several methods for messenger to work. But still I cannot seem to get messenger up and running. Is there a reason?
