I have been using online map and satellite service for long time, mostly Windows Live Maps. But I never realize it were extremely old map I have. I took deep look on map of Pattani, Thailand and suddenly I have seem shrimp Ponds near mouth of Pattani River. Terrible, they never been there for at least five or six years. Those Shrimp Ponds were replaced by dormitory and the new complex building of Faculty of Science and Technology, Prince of Songkla University. Below is the screen I took from Live Maps.

Google Maps (and Google Earth) did the same, only can zoom a bit closer.

I don’t know how you feel when your map never getting updated, something that just a half of decade old. It really annoyed me. And also if the world is just limited to America, it wouldn’t be better Google and Windows Live turn off their service?

Recently I got this email for True hi-speed Internet, an Hi-Speed Internet provider. It just got new licence of Internet Gateway which giving it power to extend the service. Then it started with announcement for new campaign and providing extra speed for existing customer.
Dear True hi-speed Internet subscriber,
Subject : Special offer for True hi-speed Internet subscripbers
According to our prior announcement, with the bandwidth expansion supported by The National Telecommunication Commission (NTC), True is now on the process of increasing the additional 256Kbps for all True Monthly hi-speed Internet subscribers, allowing all to use the new speed free of charge until April 30, 2007. However, after our inspection, we have found that your possible speed maximum is at 256 Kbps. Therefore, we would like to apologize for not being able to increase your speed accordingly due to the coverage limitation.
As our token of apology, we would like to offer you the privilege of Wi-Fi by TrueMove, allowing you to enjoy the unlimited Wi-Fi access until April 30, 2007. You may use your hi-speed Internet username and password to log in to use Wi-Fi by TrueMove via Wi-Fi supported notebook computers or PDA phones.
The letter is sound sweet but why I say it ugly. First, I was using 2.5 Mbps for years. So what is idiotic company that inspecting my highest speed of 256 Kbps. Second, coverage limitation, that is big liar. The distance from where I live and telephone exchange is less than 1 KM. So, WTF?

A link from ITsVISTA pointed to an article on Windows Vista still requires reboots after Windows Updates, that said.
I seem to recall one of Vista’s features being that it doesn’t need to reboot after Windows Update, unlike XP. Seems this is just another promise Vista was to bring that Microsoft just couldn’t deliver.
If espinoza could remember what Jim Allchin announced on PDC 2005, you may realized that Microsoft implemented new technology called ‘Restart Manager’ or ‘Reboot Manager’ to reduce number of reboot not to eliminate.
We’re also reducing reboots, we believe, at least by 50 percent in terms of configuration, that’s also something that you should work on, and let me explain why. We’ve added something called a Restart Manager or Reboot Manager in [Windows] Vista, and if you call that, it can help you decide whether or not certain .DLLs it will shut down certain parts of the system, and keep the rest of the system running, so you can replace certain .DLLs without the system having to reboot
More info from Windows Vista TechCenter:
Windows Vista also includes platform technology that can be used to prevent reboots or reduce the impact of reboots, in cases where they cannot be avoided. This new technology is used by the Windows Installer, so adding or removing applications with the Windows Add/Remove programs feature will be less likely to require a reboot.
While new applications are being installed, applications currently in use may be automatically restarted. To reduce the disruption caused by the installation, some applications, including key Microsoft Office 2007 applications and Internet Explorer, can automatically restore their state after installation. And in cases where reboots cannot be avoided the same technology may be used to restore the application’s state after the reboot.
Let’s see the fact that Vista user still need to reboot sometime after install certain updates but it not much as you faced with Windows XP. You can compare by running Vista side-by-side with XP or running XP as guest on Virtual PC, you will see the result.

After looking for it own country to place its Pirate land (server and citizen), the Pirates Bay start new project hit Holly Wood film by launching OscarTorrents. From the new site statement:
OscarTorrents is the Oscars as it should be — everyone can download the year’s nominations using the popular BitTorrent service, watch the movies, then use our rating system to choose their favourites. Why restrict the voting to a few bought-off jurors when the whole world can have their say?
Downloading
To download any film up for an Oscar this year, you’ll need three things: an internet connection, a computer, and a BitTorrent client. The official Bittorrent client is here, or Azureus, a larger but more feature-laden client, is here. Install your software, then click on any of the download links next to the films. There’s a guide to downloading with BitTorrent here. Let us know if there seems to be anything wrong with a particular Torrent and we’ll try to fix it.
Voting
Once you’ve watched a film, you can vote on it — but please, do watch before you vote! On Oscars night, we’ll post your results right along with the ‘official’ ones. Of course this is the way it should be done now that movie distribution is almost free. Hollywoodland might not like it, but some people always have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the future.
The Future
If the Oscars nominations don’t interest you much (though we think this was a great year for movies and there’s some good films to watch here) hop on over to The Torrent Review. It’s like Digg for Torrents: you can read reviews about interesting movies that have recently been shared on all sorts of trackers, rate and comment others’ reviews, or add your own.
‘Legal’ Note
To those worried about downloading in case they get sued: by our calculations, your chances of getting nailed are way less than your chances of winning the lottery. Don’t think twice about it.
Well done, but what’s about MPAA?

Since Microsoft announced Windows DreamScene for its Ultimate Extra it caused a lot of attention. Yes, it’s cool and “Wow”. DreamScene support only two types of video file, .mpeg and .wmv, regardless of file size. Graphic card must have Windows Aero capacity or meet Premium Ready. I look for a chance to see it in action not a demo video and I found a leaked file. Windows DreamScene is an update that labeled as KB929327. The installation is simple and just quick but it require reboot to enable this feature.
Now how can I set a video for desktop background? nothing in All Programs, no single program called DreamScene. To use DreamScene feature it’s really simple just like you select an image for wallpaper.
