The Day after Allchin

Jim Allchin has yesterday for the last day of his role, his era, leading Windows. I for me seeing Vista is seeing Allchin, miss him and hope to see him somewhere on Internet. His *crazy* experimental blogging giving us great feeling, where else the top executive you can talk with?

The day after Allchin’s last day at Microsoft is the first day of Steven Sinofsky, Senior Vice President of Windows and Windows Live Engineering, to lead the future of Windows. What will we see or what we may expect, “Fuji” – ”Vienna” or what?

Mary Jo start to talk of the , what were we hear before — Windows “Next”?

First off, it’s time to stop with the “Vienna” stuff. Those in the know need to start using “Windows 7″ to refer to the next full-fledged version of Windows client. (Why 7? I guess because it follows NT 6.0?)

It highly possible that the next version of Windows family (client and server) will start with new version of NT, 7.0,  and the new IIS 8.0? For basic information we heard before, from Microsoft ’s executive, is the next version of Windows is trend to take the road of modulation and virtualization.

I don’t think we will have words from Microsoft any time in the near future, even in WinHEC 2007. It’s time for Vista and Server Longhorn.

Digg!
