Fan Speed and CPU Temp Monitor gadget needed

Among hundred gadgets available at Windows Live Gadgets gallery there is very few number of system monitor related stuff. Windows Vista come with some good gadgets such as CPU meter which I found it useful to see basic information of CPU and RAM. Oh, whether gadget which always work during some beta build  is stop working, show message “Service is not available” since RC1 and then RTM. I know this happened to user on some area, just like my country, but it ever work fine before.

Few days ago I got an issue. My Vista machine got freezing and stop working. I can move mouse but can not click on anything. The screen then paled and the “waiting” circle was moving endlessly. I have to turned it off and boot to bios and then cpu temperator was 73C. The proplem is a small fan in the funel that use to suck the air from cpu was stop working, instead of pull the air out it turn to block.

I found myself need a Fan speed and CPU Temp monitor and I know there is a number of software can do this job but I thinking about gadget. Unfortunately, this useful gadget is not available in gadgets gallery. I don’t have such skill to develop this kind of stuff for myself. There must be some excellent guy or girl develop this goodie. Yes you could use Everest or one of a dozen other programs, but the question is about a sidebar gadget - not everest.

    Go to http://thehobbylounge.com

    Downloaded speedfan http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

Install speedfan check in option for it to start minimized.

Check sidebar gadgets in hobbylounge and download speedfan 1.5 or speedfan lite.

Both look good and are come with loads of colors options and the like.

Best of all all is free and has next to no impact on the system.

Ps.. for some reason on the rare machine speedfan well lock it up and as yet it doesn’t show multi core temps.

I second this. There needs to be more useful gadget. If you browse through the gadgets available you’ll find so many useless and quite frankly joke gadgets. Also, there should be one that shows the internet throughput and what programs are accessing the net.
