While I looking for a solution to monitor fan speed and CPU temperature, which I prefer to get a gadget (but gadnotget), SpeedFan releases beta version that support Windows Vista. Well, my Asus motherboard have kind of utility but outdated and not fully support Vista. SpeedFan 4.32 beta 17 featuring full support of every version of Windows Vista including 64bit. Not so bad? The beta is available here, registration is required.
Btw, I still wish to have a gadget.
